The water's fine - Come on in!

Hello everyone! Welcome to my blog! I'm excited to finally be joining the world of Blogging! This site is dedicated to all families out there, large & small ~ who wade through the daily trails of life today! My hope is that by sharing my trials, struggles, joys, and laughter with you, I can help you wade through the waters of your life. So come on it! The water's fine!

Family Fun Tip #4 - World of Color

Worl of Color is an amazing new water show at Disney's Calfornia Adventure. This beautiful, can't miss, nighttime spectacular can be tricky to see from a good vantage point so get your seats early! California Adventure usually opens around 10 am (check times at the park or on their website). As soon as the park opens, head over to the Grizzly River Run area (inside and to the right). There, you'll see signs directing you to the World of Color fast pass location. The cast members will help you get a fast pass for each ticket holder in your party. There are two show times and three different viewing areas (blue, yellow, and red). The fast pass will assign you a time and location. I suggest you plan on showing up about an hour before the scheduled show time to get the best possible seats. Even parties traveling with special needs guests need to get fast passes. There is a special seating are for special needs guests and their group, but they fill up quickly. When you get to the viewing area, you'll see street lamps colored blue, yellow, or red corresponding to the viewing areas. Look for the signs in your assigned area that say "Entrance" and a cast member will help direct you to your "seats" (it's standing area only except in the special needs section). We like to send dad out for snacks (popcorn, cotton candy, etc) to enjoy during the show while we get settled in our seats and it's always fun to meet new friends sitting nearby. Oh! Don't forget to make a potty stop BEFORE heading to your seats. We've made that mistake and the bathrooms aren't located very close by. Enjoy the show!

Family Fun Tip #3 - Knott's Berry Farm

In case you didn't know, Knott's Berry Farm has the best chicken dinner! The line for Mrs. Knott's Restaurant can be hours long. So, here's a great tip to feed the troops and get the most out of your day. Unless you're really in the mood to sit down and be waited on, don't waste time at the restaurant. Right next door is a Chicken to go shop. Just pop in, order a Chicken Bucket Meal to go, and enjoy it in the park! There are some great places inside the park to sit and eat. Some of our favorites are the picnic tables in the Ghost Town (if you time it right, you can watch the gun slingers or the native american dancers while you eat), or the tables next to the entrance of Bigfoot Rapids (it's fun to watch everyone coming off the ride drenched!). Either way, it's definately "good eats"!

Family Fun Tip #2 - Disneyland

Located troughout the park are "family" style bathrooms. Take advantage of the space to take care of everyone at one time. Not all of the bathroom locations have them. There is a "hidden" one located over between the Carnation Stage & Sleeping Beauty's Castle!

If you can't find a family bathroom, here's my tip for always have a clean stall with toilet paper ~ If you have the option when you enter, always go to the left. Most people are right handed so they automaticly gravitate to the right. More stalls on the right will be well used, or out of supplies. Also, go down 3 or 4 stalls. If you're using public restrooms, chances are you REALLY have to go! So most people will go to the first available stall, again using up the supplies.
