Life In The Fast Lane!

We’ve had a pretty busy 2 weeks since my last post! William has been going on about 3-4 auditions a week. He’s getting more comfortable, now if I can just get him to be louder (I don’t know why this is a problem since he’s usually the loudest one in the house!). He also learned a very good lesson this week. Soccer balls do NOT make good dodge balls. He broke his pinky finger playing in the backyard with his brothers and some friends. He had a splint for a couple of days before the pediatric orthopedist put a soft case on his hand and wrist. It’s been on for a week and I’ve already had to rewrap it 9 times! I don’t know if it’s ever going to heal. He had just begun pitching on his baseball team, and now he’s going to miss most of the rest of the season. Oh well!

Melvin has started on the Lego Robotics team at his school. He’s really having a lot of fun learning about all the cool things robots can do, and he was very excited the other day when he came home telling me about the arm he built for their robot. He also went on a field trip with his class to the Gene Autry Western Heritage Museum. He was very excited that dad had the day off and was able to go as a chaperone. He continues to play baseball and has discovered he really likes 1st base.

Brock worked on the next episode of “The Paul Reiser Show”. On the 5th, we were invited down to the studios to meet the director for this episode, Helen Hunt! She is SO nice, a wonderful lady! We also had a tour of the new set and were able to sit with the shows director, Bryan Gordon while he was filming his episode. We watched while they filmed a scene, and Brock practiced using his prop wheelchair on an obstacle course set up by the props dept. It was great fun!

Then on the 7th, dad took Brock back down to the studios for a wardrobe fitting and table read session. He had a lot of fun meeting the rest of the cast and doing his first table read.

On the 11th, we went down to Pasadena to the location shoot near the Rose Bowl. Brock got a haircut from Kay, the lead stylist on the show, and we watched while they filmed a scene outside of a house they were using there. He also had his picture taken with the Aston Martin used in the James Bond movie, Goldfinger with Sean Connery.

He actually began filming on the 12th at the Pasadena location. He had so much fun working with everyone again, and Helen Hunt did a really great job with him. On the 15th, we were back at the studios to film the last couple of scenes for that episode on the set. Brock was reunited with his co-star, Koby Rouviere (“Gabe”), and dad brought Melvin & William down to visit the set. We had a lot of fun showing them around and they even got to sit on the set and watch Brock film a scene. He did a terrific job! Hopefully soon we’ll have an air date!
