In the meantime, William was submitted online via one of the casting networks for a short film called The Game, and was called in for an audition. When I received the sides and breakdown it sounded awfully familiar. So I e-mailed Jared and asked him what the name of his film was. He said The Game.
I had to laugh. Maybe it’s fate? He asked me to bring in all three boys for the audition. We went down to Hollywood on Saturday, and each of the boys took turns auditioning for him. Mel & William auditioned for the part of “Ethan” and Brock auditioned for the part of “Julian”. This was Mel’s first audition. He’s done musical theater for the last 2 years, but he hadn’t been ready to transition to camera work, until now.
They all had a lot of fun at the audition and Wednesday I received an e-mail that Mel had definitely gotten the part as “Ethan”! He was very excited and so shocked that his first audition turned out so well. I think he surprised himself! They hadn’t decided on the part of “Julian” yet. There were a couple of boys in consideration. Later that afternoon, we received a phone call that Brock was cast as “Julian”.
So now our two oldest boys will be staring opposite each other as friends in a short film. They are so excited to work together. They’re so cute practicing their lines.
William was a little disappointed at first, but he had 2 other auditions already lined up so he got over it quickly. His time will come. I've already seen a change in him from last year. His auditions are getting better and he’s getting more natural in front of the camera. I think he’s going to start booking things very soon.

this is great! i'm sure they're going to have a lot of fun.
